In this video I figure out how to mount a GFS NYII surface-mount pickup at the bridge position in my Epiphone Casino and do a back-and-forth tone shootout comparing it against the stock Epiphone dogear P90. These Far East-produced Epiphone Casinos are generally derided for the muffled, dull, wooly tone of the overwound factory dogear P90 pickups. The GFS NY2 is an affordable ($40) Korean-made, hand-wound single-coil pickup that uses mini-P90-style construction within a vintage Rickenbacker- or DeArmond/Gretsch Dynasonic-style case. My bridge NY II pickup measures 8k DC resistance (so 400 less hot than advertised). Listen to the shootout and make up your own mind, and feel free to share in the comments what you think.
